Months after Arash Massage opened its doors above Haywood Street, Hurricane Helene tore through this city. The water came up, the power went out, and Asheville spent weeks digging itself out.
Arash didn't close. First responders got bodywork for free. Neighbors got sessions at half price while the city found its feet. Nobody was asked to prove anything. If you showed up worn down, you were the reason the door was open.
A sanctuary should belong to its city.
The Community Care Project is what those weeks became. It keeps a portion of the calendar within reach for neighbors moving through a hard season: caregivers running on empty, people between jobs, the folks who hold everyone else together and rarely get held themselves.
There is no application and no ceremony about it. Write or call, tell us a little about where you are, and we will find a time that works.
