Arrive

Come a little early. You are welcomed at the door, your coat is taken, and a pour is offered: caffeine-free masala chai made in house, herbal tea, or simply water. Nothing is asked of you yet. Every ritual beyond the massage itself is optional.

The lounge corner: rattan sofa, brass arc lamp, a philodendron and two leather chairs
The lounge, one flight above Haywood Street.

The conversation

Sixty minutes reward a clear brief. The conversation names one or two priority regions, neck and shoulders, the low back, the hips, the hands, and the session goes there with intent rather than spreading thin. Say what you need. That is the whole point of the Essential.

III

The work

The same Deep Restorative Massage™, concentrated. Slow, sustained pressure where you asked for it, passive stretching where a joint has stopped moving freely, and steamed towels between passes. Pressure is set by you and read continuously by the therapist.

Warmth

The oil is warmed between the palms before it touches skin, and steamed towels follow the work. The full jade stone ritual and the thermal suite belong to the 90; the Essential keeps the warmth the work needs and nothing that would crowd the hour.

The close

The last minutes are as still as the first. A few resonant notes, then quiet. Water, an unhurried goodbye, the door held. Set aside about ninety minutes in all.

What is included

One session. Everything in it.

Questions
Is sixty minutes enough?

For one or two priority regions, yes, and the conversation at the start is where you name them. For a first visit or a whole-body reset, the 90 is the better fit.

What is in the 90 that is not in the 60?

The full-body jade stone ritual and the weighted thermal therapy. The welcome, the conversation, steamed towels and the closing moment of sound are in both.

How long should I set aside?

About ninety minutes: arrival and the pour, a short conversation, sixty minutes on the table, the close.

Is the chai part of it?

Only if you want it. The pour is yours to choose: chai, herbal tea, or water. Every ritual beyond the massage itself is optional.

What do I wear, and how does draping work?

Undress to your comfort. You are draped throughout, and only the area being worked is uncovered.

How far ahead should I reserve?

The calendar opens 28 days out and stays small on purpose. If the time you need is not showing, call (828) 222-3731.
